Proposed closure of GP branch surgery based in Village Hall

Published: 05 March 2021

The Parish Council is aware that patients registered with Hessle Grange GP, have been contacted regarding their proposal to close the branch surgery located at the Village Hall.  The objection letter sent by the Parish Council in response to this can be read here.

In response, the following information has been received from NHS East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group.

A proposal to close this branch surgery was presented to our Primary Care Commissioning Committee (PCCC) on 23 February 2021. The papers for this meeting are available on our website at: https://www.eastridingofyorkshireccg.nhs.uk/primary-care-joint-commissioning-committee/; and can be found under agenda item 13: NHS England Primary Care Update on page 60.

The Committee noted this proposal and discussions took place regarding next steps the practice would be expected to undertake prior to a final decision being made.

Further information has been sought from Hessle Grange Medical Practice regarding their proposal, and this is detailed in the paper referred to above. Additionally, further engagement with registered patients and wider stakeholders is being undertaken by the practice and NHS England. Once this additional information has been obtained and the engagement work has been completed and assessed, a further report will be presented to PCCC for consideration and decision.
